To promptly act on the river bank scouring incident last June 28 which resulted to the damage of houses, the Provincial Government of Surigao del Norte and the Local Government Unit of Claver collaborated immediately through hauling and piling of boulders at the abutment of Baoy Bridge.
Provincial Governor Robert Lyndon Barbers ordered and sent heavy equipment to the area while Mayor Georgia Gokiangkee of Claver asked the Municipal Engineering Office to immediately act on the matter and to use all available heavy equipment of the LGU. Meanwhile, the Provincial Vice Governor Engr. Eddie “Geed” Gokiangkee personally monitored the activities.
As to the affected families, Mayor Gokiangkee has already started the reconstruction of their houses and the processing of financial assistance is ongoing.
