Immediately after Super Typhoon Odette devastated the province, Vice President Robredo went here twice to provide relief assistance to affected communities.

Now, she came back as our partner in our recovery efforts.

The Angat Buhay sa Kalikasang Buhay Villages will serve as relocation areas away from danger zones for families whose houses were destroyed by the typhoon. This is part of the recovery plan crafted by Governor Kaka Bag-ao and the Provincial Government of Dinagat Islands.

The funds that will be used shall come from private sector and civil society donors led by BALAOD Mindanaw, Tanging Yaman Foundation, and Assisi Development Foundation through the help of the Robredo People’s Council. For every house built through the assistance of Vice President Robredo and her partners, the Provincial Government will construct another house as its counterpart using the money we raised in our #BayanihanDinagat efforts. This means that for every 100 houses built, another 100 will also be erected.

The first 100-unit Angat Buhay sa Kalikasang Buhay Village will be situated in Barangay Cuarinta, Municipality of San Jose. 100 houses will also be built in Barangay Boa, Municipality of Cagdianao. More villages will also be planned and created in Barangay Malinao, Municipality of Tubajon and other heavily affected areas in the the province.

The path towards our recovery after Odette is now clearer than ever with the efforts of your Provincial Government together with our partners in development like Vice President Leni Robredo. Walang maliit, walang malayo, lahat mahalaga!
