PRC ComVal Celebrates NACOCOW 2018

Davao City –   The Provincial Rehabilitation Center (PRC) of Compostela Valley Province under Provincial Warden Jose Mervin G. Coquilla join the celebration of the National Correctional Consciousness Week (NACOCOW) 2018.  The celebration kicked off with a Zumba Dance and the grand opening program and the product display contest.

Other activities set by the PRC are Larong Pinoy, Tawag ng Tanghalan, Comedy Day, Volley ball and Basketball Games. One of the highlights of the weeklong celebration is the Spiritual Enhancement program of the inmates by the different religious groups.

On the other hand, the jewelry beads product, bonsai and other handicrafts are displayed and also made available for bulk orders.The PRC Comval also invited guests from the different agencies and from the Provincial Tourism Office under Senior Tourism Operations Officer Cristine T. Dompor to witness the daily event held at the jail. The PRC also prepared cash prizes and items for the winners of the different contest during the duration of the celebration.

With this year’s NACOCOW theme: “Pagbabago sa kanlungan ng piitan ay tunay na makakamtan sa makabagong pamamaraan,” Coquilla emphasized the role of the people in the community in the rehabilitation and reformation process of the Person Deprived of Liberty (PDL).

Coquilla express his gratitude to all the PRC personnel and the inmates who helped and support for the success of the weeklong activity.

Nalipay gyud ta ug dako kay nahimong successful ang maong activity uban sa tabang sa atong mga talented nga mga gay inmates nga maoy naghatag ug idea sa atung pagabuhaton nga selebrasyon,” he said.

“This activity is to raise level of awareness of the community and the public about our jails, prisons, parolees, and probationers,” said Coquilla.

He added that detention facilities in PRC Comval is overall normal with 724 inmate and are supervised by 66 personnel.

The NACOCOW is celebrated in accordance with Presidential Proclamation 551 signed by former President Ramos in 1995.
