Motorcycle slams into a truck: 45-yr.-old pa, his 9-yr. old son got killed

A father and his son who were on their way to attend a relative’s wake, got killed when a motorcycle they were riding slammed into a parked sugarcane truck past 9 p.m. Saturday at Sitio Mambusao, Barangay Tabu, Ilog town.

Police identified the victims as Joemarie Aldea Aguirre, 45, married, a farmer, and his son Anthony Lacson Aguirre, 9 years old – both of Sitio Mambusao.

Injured was the motorcycle driver, Leggery Lacson Aguirre, 19 also of the sitio.

The three were rushed to Lorenzo Zayco District Hospital in Kabankalan City but Dr. Jade Leuterio declared the two dead on-arrival at about 11:50 p.m. of the same day.

Police investigation disclosed that the three were riding a Rusi tricycle from Sitio Mambusao going to Sitio Mombay, Barangay Talacdan, Cauayan town to attend a wake, when they slammed into a blue Fuso Truck bearing Plate Number FAL-712 parked on the road. The truck is owned by Ernie Reyes.

The cargo truck was loaded with sugarcane occupying the right lane of the road and without an early warning device (EWD).

Police said the driver admitted that they were under the influence of alcohol.*
