MMDA Releases Recommendations To Address Bacolod Traffic Problem

The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) that sent a team to conduct a study on the traffic situation of Bacolod last December 2018, has already released its findings vis-a-vis the recommendations.

George Zulueta, chairman, City Planning and Development Council (CPDC), presented these to the council during their meeting yesterday.

He said, MMDA findings on the traffic situation of Bacolod area:
there is inadequate traffic signs, CCTV, traffic lights, traffic enforcers, jaywalking, and lots of traffic obstructions.

Along with these, MMDA recommends to remove all obstructions along the sidewalks; install CCTV, traffic signs, and traffic lights in all intersections; also install traffic enforcers in all intersections, impose stricter and higher penalty for jaywalking.

Zulueta also said, for action plan on these recommendations, they will conduct a seminar of all personnel of Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO), among others.(Edith Colmo, NDB)
