Davao City – The Municipal Government of Magsaysay, Davao del Sur thru the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office and Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office distributed food packs to 63 families who were displaced when government troops clashed with armed men believed to be communist rebels in Barangay Upper Bala.
Mayor Arthur Davin said after receiving the reported encounter, he immediately dispatched the MDRRMO personnel to validate the incident and assess if there were evacuees who fled from their homes.
The incident took place in Purok 6 and 8 in Upper Bala. According to the Magsaysay Municipal Police Station, there were no casualties from both sides.
