In connection with the DOTr-LTO Oplan Balik Eskwela 2022, LTO V District Offices conducted enforcement activities yesterday August 22, 2022, to ensure that the road safety laws, rules, and regulations are implemented for the safety of the students and other road users on the opening day of face-to-face classes.
The District and Regional Law Enforcement Team conducted random roadside inspections in the vicinity of schools in their respective areas of responsibility to check if the road safety laws are observed. They also reminded the drivers to observe the health protocols, particularly the 7 Commandments of the DOTr. Assistance was also provided to pedestrian users and motorists, while flyers on road safety reminders were given randomly to drivers to heighten information education campaign on responsible road use.
Additionally, prior to the opening of face-to-face classes yesterday, various LTO V Offices conducted a series of Road Safety Seminars for students, parents, and faculty members from selected schools to share awareness on road safety rules and regulations, and to ensure “Kaligtasan sa Kalsada” in preparation for the opening of classes.
Other agencies such as the Highway Patrol Group and various Municipal and City Police Stations also participated in the said activities.
