Victory was finally achieved after 4 long days of waiting in drama for the proclamation of the elected local officials at Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte, today.

On the evening of May 17, 2019, a prayer vigil from both Uy and Jalosjos’ supporters was held outside the Dapitan City Hall while the Election Returns (ERs) were transmitted to the transparency server.

The protest started when Dapitan City Mayoralty candidate Evelyn T. Uy released a press statement on her Facebook page, that is now already deleted, and a broadcasted phone patch interview through Mr. Erwin Tulfo, requesting the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) for a manual counting since it has already been 4 days delayed after the midterm elections was held last Monday, May 13, 2019.

The delay was due to the 38 defective SD cards that were needed to be replaced from Zamboanga City. Because of this, on the said date, no elected official yet is proclaimed for the City of Dapitan that made Uy and her supporters raving for their anticipated win.

At exactly 11:51 in the morning today, May 18, 2019, the most awaited proclamation was done after Mayor Rosalina “Nene” Jalosjos won the battle with 26,407 votes against her rival Evelyn Uy with only 20,602 votes.
