Dangpanan Ni Tomas Gives Assistance To Fire Victims In Bobongon

DAVAO CITY-     Dangpanan ni Tomas, the working office and social arm of Mayor Ernesto Evangelista, extended assistance to the fire victims in NAFCO, Barangay Bobongon in Santo Tomas, Davao del Norte.

Carlo Jack Pino, executive assistant II and program coordinator of Dangpanan ni Tomas, said that they gave assistance to the affected and displaced families on Thursday, Oct. 17.

Pino said one sack of rice, and personal toiletries like toothbrush, towels, among others were immediately given to them to make a temporary reprieve of their ordeal.

Pino added that Dangpanan ni Tomas has assisted the family to process the requirements for them to avail a shelter assistance of P10, 000 intended to two families affected by the fire incident.

Vivian Manile, social welfare assistant, from the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office has visited the family to assess if the affected family will be able to receive the much-needed assistance under the emergency shelter assistance (ESA) program.

Municipal Administrator and lawyer Elisa Evangelista-Lapina gave the immediate order to Dangpanan ni Tomas’ Carlo Jack Pino to expedite the release of assistance to the fire victims.

“This is the very essence of Dangpanan ni Tomas. To give immediate assistance to those who are in dire need of our service. This is the fastest way of our Mayor Tatay Erning to help our people at this time of crisis,” Lapina said.

A fire has razed a residential house around 3:05 a.m in Purok 7, NAFCO, in Barangay Bobongon, Santo Tomas, Davao del Norte, displacing two families.

Firefighters doused the flames and completely put out the fire around 6:00 a.m.
