The Doña Josefa Edralin Marcos District Hospital in Marcos town is one of two public hospitals serving patients in the second district of Ilocos Norte.

According to Dr. Rogelio Balbag, Executive Director of Ilocos Norte Hospital and Management Council, the healthcare infrastructure project was funded jointly by the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte and the Department of Health (DOH) with Php 34 million and Php 20 million, respectively.

The inauguration ceremony, which coincides with the 49th founding anniversary of the Doña Josefa Edralin Marcos District Hospital, also included the turnover of a digital x-ray machine and one unit of patient transport vehicle.

Meanwhile, Governor Manotoc noted that the new facility further requires additional machinery, equipment, and trained personnel to provide quality treatment to patients.

He also thanked the Sangguniang Panlalawigan for enacting legislation to fund healthcare initiatives in the province, as well as the DOH for its continuous assistance for Ilocos Norte.

In fiscal year 2022, over Php 650 million has been earmarked for the infrastructure, equipment, and supplies of the Governor Roque B. Ablan Sr. Memorial Hospital, Dingras District Hospital, Bangui District Hospital, Doña Josefa Edralin Marcos District Hospital, and Piddig District Hospital.
