Residents in Baguio City waked up Wednesday morning with a chilling 9.2.4 degree Celsius.
Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration weather specialist Efren Dalipog of the city recorded the temperature at around 5 am today
It is the lowest drop this year as the northeast monsoon, or hanging amihan, is now prevailing over Northern Luzon.
In the province of Benguet in the municipality of Atok some semi temperate vegetable plantations are affected with frost with a 4 degrees Celcius temperature.
Based on the PAGASA data, the lowest temperature ever recorded in Baguio City was 6.3 degrees Celsius on January 18, 1961.
“Expect colder temperatures in the city and other parts of Benguet to stay low until February” Dalipog said
