BAGUIO CITY – The city has been adjudged as one of the country’s Most Child Friendly in highly-urbanized city category, the award received by Youth representative Councilor Levy Lloyd Orcales at the Malacanang Palace last week.
Accompanying the youth councilor during the National Awarding Ceremonies of the 20 finalists for the 2017 Presidential Award for Child-Friendly municipalities and cities is City Social Welfare and Development staff member Liza Bulayungan.
The city is with the top finalist for child-friendly cities, which includes Mandaluyong,, Iloilo and Cebu.
The annual award is given to municipalities/cities who have complied with national and local policies including the criteria set by the Department of Interior and Local Government as to children’s rights, responsibilities and privileges.
For the Most Child-Friendly in the independent city category, Dagupan and Ormoc join the finalists.
