Several armed men wearing masks ransacked the main office of the Northern Negros Electric Cooperative. Inc. (NONECO) in Barangay Tortosa, Manapla, Negros Occidental past 10 o’clock last night.
A Manapla Police Station operative told NDB the electric cooperative’s four security guards on duty were disarmed before about six suspects entered the building and ransacked the offices and opened the vaults.
One of the four guards was reportedly manhandled by the suspects, who entered the NONECO premises through the canteen.
Manapla and Victorias policemen are jointly conducting further investigations, while inventory is also ongoing to determine whether cash were taken or what properties were carted away by the suspects who were armed with long firearms.* (Arman Toga, NDB)
