Eight suspects have been arrested while PHP495,000 worth of suspected shabu has been recovered by the police in two recent operations in Silay City, Negros Occidental.
Five were cornered in a buy-bust in Sitio Estaca, Barangay Lantad at about 4:15 p.m, on September 16.
They were identified as Rojo Templado, 33; Jay-R Arpal, 29; Lorene Canson, 51; Romel Delpinaga; and Michael Gaas, both 42. Operatives seized from the suspects 14 sachets of suspected shabu weighing about 21 grams with an estimated market value of PHP315,000.
Also recovered were PHP6,500 marked money, five wallets, four mobile phones, two improvised tooters, and two disposable lighters, among others.
At about 2 p.m. on September 11, three suspects were arrested during a buy-bust in Purok Mangingisda, Barangay Guinhalaran.
Police identified them as Eldy Villarias, 39; and Aldrin Katipunan, 33; and a male minor. The suspects yielded 12 grams of shabu with an estimated market value of PHP180,000. (Nanette Guadalquiver pna via ndb)
