Compostela Valley Province (IDS) —-Another sixty two (62) rebel returnees receives their immediate cash assistance of the government during the turnover ceremony of the Enhance Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) to Compostela Valley beneficiaries.
The 62 rebel returnees received a total of Php65,000 each; Php15,000 immediate assistance and Php50,000 livelihood assistance from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) “Balik Loob” Program of President Rodrigo Duterte.
The turnover ceremony was led by Governor Jayvee Tyron L. Uy together with DILG Provincial Director Noel Duarte and the high ranking officials from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP).
Governor Uy happily expressed his gratitude to the 62 former rebels who are now in the side of the government as he also encouraged others to surrender and to support the “balik loob” program.
“Dili lamang ang pagtabang sa panginabuhian ang gilantaw sa gobyerno kundi lakip na ang kaugmaon sa mga rebel returnees sanglit andam ang DepEd nga kamu mapahiluna aron nga makaeskwela pagbalik pinaagi sa Alternative Learning System (ALS),” said Gov. Uy.
On the other hand, a twenty-two year old beneficiary said that “sa sinugdan sa akong pag apil okay pa man apan sa nagkadugay nabatyagan nako ang kalisod labi na sa panahon nga wa mi makaon sa bukid tungod kay walay bugas ug magkasakit walay tambal kay nahutdan ug walay pundo”.
“Sa maong tabang nga nadawat namu gikan sa gobyerno, plano namu nga magsugod sa bag-ong kinabuhi uban ang among pamilya ug mga anak ug magpuyo nga malinawon ug layo sa kagubot,” said aka Janice.
Meanwhile, Governor Uy in his closing statement said that he is also planning to replicate President Duterte’s moves that the former rebels can also explore and experience what is life in the city especially in Davao.
“Sama sa gihimo ni Pres. Duterte plano usab nako nga isuroy mo sa siyudad sa Davao para masinati sad ninyu ang kinabuhing siyudadnon nga wala ninyu matagamtami samtang naa mo naglihok sa mga kabukiran ug nakigbatok sa atuang gobyerno,” said Gov. Uy.
