Isabela Mayor Joselito Malabor confirmed to Negros Daily Bulletin (NDB), Bombo Radyo and RMN News that two of his supporters and close-in bodyguards were nabbed early this morning in Isabela.
Malabor said operatives of the Police Mobile Group (PMG) with search warrants entered the houses of retired SF Master Sgt. Alexander Ferrer Jr. and former soldier and former barangay kagawad Florentino Lupio.
Malabor said firearms were recovered and the two are now at Isabela Police Station.
The mayor said the search and arrest “are politically-motivated”.
Initial report from Isabela PNP meanwhile indicated that a certain Ladrido was also nabbed along with the two.
It also indicated that the PMG operations are part of the imposition of the Comelec gun ban and other election-related regulations.* (Arman Toga, NDB)
